I am completing a middle-grade fantasy adventure series (written as one fat novel, now being parsed into 3) called Lefthandland, about a microscopic boy, Jonn Raveler Schimggle, and his civilization, located in the left hand of a human girl. He and his friends are thrown into a quest to save their world (and the girl's life, although this they don't know) from the empire-building and environmentally destructive Chacloom, who live in the Rightlands.
I am also working on a YA fantasy novel about a 14-year-old boy (white father, missing for years, and African mother) who is yanked from his home in Santa Cruz, CA into a parallel world (as if Santa Cruz isn't already a parallel universe!).
I have published poetry and adult fiction in a number of literary journals. Here's one website with some poems: http://www.cortlandreview.com/issue/33/glaser.html
I teach creative writing, children's/ya literature, poetry, and composition at Santa Clara University. My Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley is in modern American poetry. I live on top of Ben Lomond Mountain, north of coastal Santa Cruz, CA, with my wife and daughter and big husky-malamute dog.
